Louise Trotter’s first outing for Bottega Veneta has landed, and the usual suspects—editors, stylists, and insiders are already making their wish lists. Instead of getting lost in conceptual theatrics, Trotter has a finger on the pulse of what people actually want to wear right now: pieces that feel modern and effortless to slip into for real life.
Naturally, the house’s intrecciato weave is woven through the collection, sometimes exactly where you’d expect, sometimes in places that catch you off guard, like in matching sets. The tailoring is more relaxed, with softer tones replacing more traditional Bottega colorways.
You can still spot the Bottega DNA a mile away, but Trotter has turned down the formality and turned up the ease. The Lauren, Cabat, and Veneta bags are all here, but they’ve been gently reworked into softer shapes and a relaxed, almost broken-in attitude that nudges them out of the display case and into daily rotation.
Eyewear quietly stole the show. Slim cat-eye sunglasses with hand-painted frames that feel destined for waitlists and Instagram close-ups alike.
Shoes took a playful turn: collapsible leather loafers and clogs punctuated with metal stubs, all designed with the kind of irreverent practicality that makes you want to swap out your current rotation immediately.
If you’ve been circling Bottega Veneta, consider this your invitation in. Here’s what to add to your cart before everyone else catches on.
